Lynette Lucas

Born and raised in the mountainous and pine rich Morobe district of Papua New Guinea, Lynette Lucas designs and creates bilum bags. Made traditionally with locally sources materials, Lynette, who now resides in Tent City, Lae, was taught by her mother and her aged grandmother.

With a distinct perspective of the world around her and a desire to keep cultural customs and artistic techniques alive, Lynette eagerly learned and mastered the techniques to produce durable, intricately woven bags in traditions and skills passed down the generations.
